San Diego's homeless program used to be a model for the rest of the Country. We were treating people individually, through a combination of compassion and individualized care. Our process wasn't done until those under our care were back to being healthy and productive members of society.
Almost a decade later, homelessness has reached the tipping point, people have died, and even more people are living on the street, yet politicians are still pushing the same agenda, deemphasizing mental health, drug abuse and youth services, which is what got us here in the first place.
I cannot in good conscience just sit and watch while the same politicians keep sinking our City further. That's why I will be supporting Barbara Bry for mayor, and I look forward to working with her to get our City headed back in the right direction.
I encourage you to learn more about her plans that will truly help our neighbors in need.
